Anatomy of the wall

The wall study continues through lockdown. I work up close directly recording surfaces through rubbings and collecting plants from the crevices which I pass lightly through the printing press.

I find words and dates concealed in the masonry and remnants of past residents’ collections pressed into cement. Where the greenhouse used to stand the date 1975 is noted in polished pebbles.

This will be an object for handling. Like a map, the journey along the wall will be folded back into a tight bundle of geometric shapes.
