Adjusting to a new way of living and observing. Bury Sketchers are now meeting online and our ‘word of the week’ is scattered.
My family is currently scattered but not in a random way, decisions have been taken that place us in our locations. These drawings record a random scatter as the plum blossom falls. However, decisions are still taken, slight adjustments to create balance and pleasing negative space.
Maybe the air currents and object weight have also created a sense of order. I’ve been thinking about randomly generated art and automatism while I develop ideas around the Linder Sterling exhibition at Kettles Yard.
Perhaps this could be an interesting engagement tool during the lockdown.
