Micro Nature Reserve: Acts of resistance

For Grove Projects

A piece of artwork to be placed in public for a day, no larger than 5cm

An object as a lens into the micro habitat of the deteriorating brickwork of the wall. Opportunistic and resilient plants find temporary spaces to take hold. Soon the council worker with the spray gun passes this way keeping the place tidy

Who will find this micro-hide constructed from the materials of its surroundings, crumbling fragments of brick and mortar. Will a passer-by be drawn to a variation in the pattern of the brickwork to discover this object. Will its tactile nature encourage that person to pick it up, handle, sniff it, look through or maybe put it to their ear and listen for a crashing wave.
